We don’t mind an adventure to go picking. So when we saw a post offering free model rockets about an hour out, we jumped on it.

We brought the kids along for the ride — figured it was a good chance for them to learn something new and expand their horizons.

We made our way past Bonneville Dam, through Hood River, and crossed a long, narrow bridge into White Salmon, Washington.

There, we cleared out a local model rocket club — another solid pick in the books.
